When visiting Nusa Penida, you can’t miss either of these places!
Mother Nature did a spectacular job right here. These two are probably the best known spots on Nusa Penida, so be prepared, if you will go there during the day, there will be plenty of people.
We went there for sun rise and there was NOBODY around. Both of these wonders you can have just for yourself until approximately 8 am.
Our tip: When you are arriving, there is a man collecting entrance fee. We would recommend to first you park your bike there, because that´s where Broken Beach is.! Enjoy the view you will get to see and then keep going on the bike to the proper parking spots where is Angell’s Billabong. This way you can now just jump into the nature pool and soak everything what’s around you
Broken Beach on Nusa Penida Island
Broken Beach is the place which leaves you speechless or maybe with one big WOW.
It’s one of the most picturesque places on Nusa Penida Island. Sheer cliffs created a bridge through which the rough ocean rushes onto an untouched beach. Looks as crazy beautiful as it sounds!
You can enter the beach at the bottom, but you can walk on the bridge and all around to enjoy every angle on this beauty.
How to get to Broken Beach in Nusa Penida
You can either way drive your bike here or rent a private car with a driver. As we said before, our tip is to park your bike just on the side of the road where you will pay the entrance fee and from there it’s just short walk!
Costs of Broken Beach and Angell’s Billabong
As these two places are next to each other within 5 minute walk, even the parking fee and entrance fee is together and costs 10k IDR (1AUD) per person.

Once you pay your entrance ticket, you keep driving until you will get onto big parking spot. From there you will follow the path downhill on the left until you will get to these spectaculars rocky formations with crystal clear infinity pool created by nature.
When to visit Angell’s Billabong Nusa Penida
If you want to attempt have a swim inside of the billabong, make sure you are there on low tide. Because as amazing as this place is, it’s even more dangerous, and swimming on the high tide could ended up swiping you by huge unpredictable wave into the rough Indian Ocean.
